Job description
Stock & Inventory Manager
Location: Nottinghamshire (On Site)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30 (with occasional weekend / out-of-hours presence to lead major stock counts)
IMPACT EVOLVE is supporting a multi-site 3PL operation in appointing a senior inventory leader to take full ownership of stock governance, integrity and performance across a complex campus environment.
This role has been created to establish clear authority and structure across the stock function.
You will sit above site-level operational management in matters of inventory control, defining standards, setting expectations and ensuring stock accuracy is measured, managed and improved consistently across multiple customers.
This is not a step-up role.
We are seeking someone who has already led and owned an inventory function within a multi-client warehousing or 3PL environment and is confident operating at senior level.
The Opportunity
The campus operates in a highly dynamic, multi-customer environment with significant complexity and competing priorities.
The stock function is established, but the business is strengthening its governance, reporting discipline and process consistency. This role will lead that next phase.
You will:
Take full accountability for campus-wide stock accuracy and PI completion
Define and enforce robust cycle count and audit frameworks
Lead structured investigation processes and corrective action planning
Own shrinkage control, damage trend analysis and stock loss reporting
Govern inter-site stock movements and location integrity
Act as WMS subject matter expert for inventory processes
Develop clear, data-led reporting frameworks for senior leadership
Act as the senior contact for stock-related customer audits and escalations
You will lead a team of c.15 stock colleagues and work cross-functionally with Operations Managers, Planning and Finance to ensure stock standards are consistently applied.
This role requires someone comfortable applying upward and cross-functional pressure where standards are not met.
About You
You have previously held full responsibility for inventory or stock control within a complex 3PL, contract logistics or multi-client warehouse operation.
You are comfortable operating with authority.
You understand how to balance operational realities with governance standards and are confident setting clear expectations with both your own team and wider operational stakeholders.
You bring:
Proven ownership of stock accuracy KPIs within a multi-client environment
Experience leading and developing stock teams (10+ direct reports)
Strong understanding of PI frameworks, audit governance and investigation methodology
Confidence managing stock risk, shrinkage and compliance
Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, structured data analysis)
The ability to interpret stock data, identify trends and shape reporting requirements
You do not require step-by-step direction.
You are comfortable defining structure, building consistency and holding others to account professionally.
Why This Role?
This is a visible, campus-level leadership position with genuine influence.
You will shape how inventory governance operates across multiple sites and customers, working directly with senior leadership to strengthen structure, reporting and accountability.
It suits an experienced inventory leader who wants broader responsibility and the opportunity to embed long-term standards — not someone looking for their first leadership step.
Hiring Process
Stage 1: Video interview with senior leadership
Stage 2: On-site assessment including Excel exercise and operational walkthrough
Both IMPACT EVOLVE and the client are committed to fair and inclusive recruitment, with adjustments available where required.
